“十三五”时期，世情国情农情深刻变化，我国生猪产业正处于转型升级的关键时期，受内外部环境变化影响，新旧矛盾交织叠加，问题越发凸显，可持续发展面临巨大挑战。生猪产业面临环境压力、资源约束、国际竞争、疫病风险、市场波动等诸多难题。
为了进一步提高我国养猪综合实力，加快推进生猪养殖业转型升级，促进生猪生产持续健康有序发展，现定于2016年9月26日-28日在唐山召开“中国（唐山）养猪行业发展峰会暨第八届河北猪业发展大会、国际猪业环境控制及智慧环保高峰论坛”。
